Whiling The Year Away

What could be worse than 2020 is a question we will be asking for generations. Everything from COVID to this damnable election has Americans firmly in the grip of a not so civil war. Not looting in downtown Little Rock! That doesn’t happen here. We don’t have looters and rioters here. Well by God we do now and things are getting out of control. Protesting in Hot Springs? What’s wrong with y’all?
The one shining beacon for this year has been yet another birth; our granddaughter.
This past weekend we were blessed to have them all here, to celebrate the baby’s first haunt, first Halloween, first major road trip, and then she said my name. My heart is full. She said NayNay quite clearly and in context. You know what that does to a person.

I’m a different sort of person because it galvanized my already stubborn streak. I felt warm and fuzzy sure, but more than that, I feel a need to participate and belong; and no amount of drama is going to interfere.
Stay tuned. This is sure to be a shit storm but I’m ironclad about protecting my grandgoddess from her tyrannical other family members. She will not see a 30 year old issue become new before her eyes. She’s never going to know that part of our lives and that means the adults have to behave super adulty. That means she has to mind her manners and treat the people that Ellibobelli loves with dignity and respect in front of her. If she can.
When all the legal stuff was finalized week before last, it was the beginning of a new era in all our lives. I’m certain it will be.

I’ll do something in politics next and really piss off some people.
Happy Thanksgiving
